We closed out our 2025–26 Made Local series last n We closed out our 2025–26 Made Local series last night at the Carnegie Library Lecture Hall with a final event that brought the season full circle. Pittsburgh writer, critic, and poet, Adriana E. Ramírez, in conversation with local journalist Tony Norman, reminded us that fraught histories are tapestries of real, complicated human lives, and that approaching these stories with empathy and curiosity can lead us to unexpected truths. It embodied our goal of connecting readers and writers while opening space for meaningful conversation.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and for those who couldn't, we hope to see you on May 11th for our last Ten Evenings lecture with Michael Chabon, where we'll unveil the forthcoming season.

Signed copies of Ramírez's "The Violence" are available at @whitewhalebks.
