“If we take a historical perspective, the moments “If we take a historical perspective, the moments of most intensive environmental harm are always bound up with the moments of the most intensive human exploitation. Seeing them together is something which we’re only starting to be able to do. … And I think we actually need to learn from communities for whom this has always been true, and it’s been a matter of common sense.” —Sunil Amrith

Last night at the Carnegie Music Hall, we gathered to sit with that truth.

Thank you to @carnegiemnh and everyone who joined us for Sunil Amrith’s urgent, wide-ranging lecture—an evening that traced the entangled histories of climate, empire, migration, and human ambition with clarity and care. In a moment when it can feel easier to look away, you showed up ready to listen, question, and imagine something different.

We’re grateful to share space with a community that understands ideas matter, and that how we tell our histories shapes how we move forward.
