Robert Sabuda is the renowned creator of many intricately detailed pop-up books, including Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, America The Beautiful, and the Encyclopedia Prehistorica trilogy as well as two stunning holiday titles, Chanukah Lights and A Christmas Story. A life-long artist, Sabuda began making pop-up books as a child after his first experience reading a pop-up book distracted him during an agonizing trip to the dentist! After a college internship with Dial Books for Young Readers, Sabuda decided he wanted to be a children’s book illustrator and landed his first job illustrating color books which lead to a career in children’s books, including his beloved pop-ups.
A book signing will follow the program on the first floor of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Books will be available for sale before and after the lecture from Mystery Lovers Bookshop.
